
MEMBERSHIP POLICIES
CONDUCT & ETTIQUETTE
Section A — Expected Conduct
OpenMic Perform Pro, LLC (“OpenMic,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) expects all Members to conduct themselves in a professional, respectful, and safety-conscious manner when participating in OpenMic-related activities, whether in person or through digital or virtual platforms.
A.1 Professional Behavior
Members are expected to:

Act with professionalism, courtesy, and integrity
-
Communicate respectfully with other participants, staff, collaborators, and guests
-
Follow reasonable instructions provided by OpenMic representatives, event staff, or production leadership
-
Conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on the OpenMic community and its partners
Professional disagreement or creative critique is permitted when expressed constructively and without personal hostility.
A.2 Respect for Participants
Members must respect the dignity, boundaries, and rights of all participants, including:

Other Members, performers, crew, staff, and attendees
-
Venue personnel, vendors, and third-party partners
Discriminatory, demeaning, intimidating, or exploitative behavior is inconsistent with OpenMic’s standards and is not permitted.
A.3 Safety Awareness and Compliance
Members are expected to:

Comply with applicable safety rules, protocols, and instructions
-
Observe venue policies, production guidelines, and applicable laws
-
Use equipment, tools, and facilities only as authorized and instructed
Safety requirements may vary depending on the nature of the activity, location, or production environment.
A.4 Preparedness and Responsibility
Members should arrive prepared to participate responsibly, including:

Being punctual and attentive
-
Respecting schedules, workflows, and production processes
-
Taking reasonable care of shared spaces, equipment, and materials
A.5 Applicability Across Environments
These expectations apply across all OpenMic-related environments, including:
-
Live events and productions
-
Sets, rehearsals, and workshops
-
Educational sessions and meetings
-
Hybrid or virtual experiences, livestreams, and online platforms
Section B — Prohibited Behavior
OpenMic Perform Pro, LLC (“OpenMic,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) prohibits conduct that compromises safety, professionalism, or the well-being of participants, or that exposes OpenMic, venues, or partners to unnecessary risk. The following behaviors are not permitted in connection with any OpenMic-related activity.
B.1 Harassment and Abusive Conduct
Members may not engage in conduct that is harassing, intimidating, abusive, or discriminatory, including:

Verbal, physical, or written harassment
-
Threatening, coercive, or bullying behavior
-
Unwanted physical contact or invasion of personal boundaries
-
Conduct that creates a hostile or unsafe environment
This prohibition applies regardless of intent and includes behavior occurring in person, online, or through digital communications.
B.2 Unsafe or Reckless Conduct
Members may not engage in conduct that endangers themselves or others, including:

Disregarding safety instructions, protocols, or posted rules
-
Misuse of equipment, tools, or facilities
-
Entering restricted or unauthorized areas
-
Interfering with production operations, emergency procedures, or venue staff
Safety violations may result in immediate removal from the activity.
B.3 Substance Misuse
Where relevant to the activity, Members may not:
-
Be under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or impairing substances while participating in activities requiring alertness, safety compliance, or professional conduct
-
Possess or use illegal substances on OpenMic-controlled premises or activities
-
Misuse prescription medication in a manner that impairs participation or safety
OpenMic may impose stricter substance policies for certain events, productions, or venues as required by insurance, law, or partner agreements.
B.4 Disruptive or Obstructive Behavior
Members may not engage in behavior that materially disrupts OpenMic activities, including:

Repeatedly interrupting proceedings, rehearsals, or sessions
-
Ignoring reasonable instructions from OpenMic representatives or venue staff
-
Interfering with the participation or work of others
B.5 Retaliation and Abuse of Process
Members may not retaliate against individuals who raise concerns, report violations, or participate in investigations. Abuse of reporting or complaint processes for harassment, intimidation, or personal disputes is also prohibited.
B.6 Applicability Across Environments
Prohibited behavior applies across all OpenMic-related environments, including live events, sets, workshops, educational sessions, digital platforms, and hybrid or virtual experiences.
Section C — Authority and Enforcement
OpenMic Perform Pro, LLC (“OpenMic,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) retains full authority to manage conduct, safety, and participation in connection with OpenMic-related activities in order to protect participants, venues, productions, and operations.
C.1 On-Site and Operational Authority
OpenMic representatives, event staff, production leadership, and authorized venue personnel have the authority to:

Issue instructions related to safety, conduct, or operations
-
Address disruptive, unsafe, or prohibited behavior
-
Take immediate action where necessary to protect people, property, or the integrity of the activity
Members agree to comply promptly with reasonable instructions issued under this authority.
C.2 Removal From Events or Activities
OpenMic may require a Member to leave an event, production, set, workshop, or other activity immediately if the Member engages in prohibited conduct or fails to comply with safety or conduct requirements.
Removal may occur with or without prior warning and does not entitle the Member to any refund, reimbursement, or continued participation.
C.3 Revocation or Restriction of Access
In addition to on-site removal, OpenMic may:

Suspend or terminate a Member’s access to specific programs, events, or tiers
-
Revoke credentials, badges, or access permissions
-
Terminate membership in accordance with the Membership Agreement
Such actions may be temporary or permanent, depending on the circumstances.
C.4 Escalation and Reporting to Authorities
Where required by law, venue policy, insurance requirements, or where OpenMic determines it is reasonably necessary, OpenMic may:
-
Contact venue security or emergency services
-
Report conduct to law enforcement or regulatory authorities
-
Cooperate with investigations or legal proceedings
Nothing in this Policy obligates OpenMic to pursue or refrain from any particular escalation.
C.5 No Waiver; Independent Remedies
Failure to take action in any particular instance does not waive OpenMic’s right to enforce this Policy or other incorporated Policies in the future.
Enforcement under this Policy is independent of, and in addition to, remedies available under the Membership Agreement, other Policies, or applicable law.
Section D — Assumption of Risk and Participant Responsibility
D.1 Voluntary Participation
Participation in OpenMic Perform Pro, LLC (“OpenMic,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) activities is voluntary. Members choose to participate in events, productions, workshops, or other activities with the understanding that such activities may involve inherent risks depending on the environment, location, or nature of the activity.
D.2 Assumption of Risk
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Members acknowledge and assume all risks associated with their voluntary participation in OpenMic-related activities, including risks arising from:

Physical movement, equipment, or staging
-
Live event or production environments
-
Interaction with other participants
-
Travel to and from event locations
-
Use of facilities, tools, or shared spaces
This assumption of risk applies whether activities occur in person, remotely, or through hybrid or virtual formats, to the extent such risks are applicable.
D.3 Compliance With Instructions and Safety Rules
Members agree to comply with all reasonable instructions, safety protocols, rules, and guidelines issued by OpenMic representatives, production leadership, event staff, or venue personnel.
Failure to comply with such instructions may result in immediate removal from the activity and additional enforcement actions as described in this Policy and the Membership Agreement.
D.4 Personal Responsibility
Members are responsible for:

Assessing their own fitness, readiness, and suitability to participate

Using equipment or facilities only as authorized and instructed
-
Acting in a manner that does not endanger themselves or others
Members should refrain from participation if they believe their involvement could pose a safety risk.
D.5 No Medical or Safety Guarantees
OpenMic does not provide medical care, safety supervision, or insurance coverage for Members unless expressly stated in writing. Members are responsible for obtaining any personal insurance coverage they deem appropriate.
Nothing in this Policy guarantees a risk-free environment.
D.6 Relationship to Other Agreements
This assumption of risk provision operates in conjunction with, and does not replace, any waivers, releases, or assumption-of-risk provisions contained in separate agreements, venue requirements, or production-specific documentation.
